Short, over-average weight, Asian girl. What’s so exciting about that you ask? Well, that’s exactly why I started this blog. More often then not, people expect me to be a shy person that won’t push back. Or maybe a domestic man-pleaser. And even a token Asian who apparently is supposed to speak the truth about all things Asian and would therefore have a bottle of sriracha in her desk drawer. Spoiler alert: I actually don’t like spicy food, so no sriracha please. And yes, true story about a coworker asking if I had sriracha even though I never mentioned owning any.
Anywho, I actually am a little shy, which is why I’ve taken to the internet to share my little piece of the story. And it all started when I stumbled across my old college diary about a week before launching this blog. For 2 years, I wrote pages about how being an Asian American female affected my life. And I thought, “Why did I stop?!” So A Bit Wong will be my epilogue to the Alisa Diaries: College Edition. Here I’ll write about how being a 3rd generation Chinese American in San Francisco influences my choices and experiences in style, travel, and life (sometimes called microaggessions). I’m not saying every post will talk to one of my identities, but since I live and breathe it everyday, don’t be surprised if it sneaks in once in a while. 😉
Regardless of how you ended up here, I’m glad you visited and I hope you enjoy my snippets of life that might be A Bit Wong.
